There’s nothing more inspiring than amazing people doing great things in the world and truly making a difference. Here some of our favourite humans (and organisations) who’ve put one foot in front of the other to make the world a better place, all with a touch of style and grace.

Keeping it classy, not just in San Diego

Richard Branson

The Virgin mogul is famous for being worth 3.9 billion US dollars, owning his own island, and running more than 400 companies. But he’s infamous for his fashion-related angst – he refuses to wear a tie, and will cut off the ties (on live television) of journalists interviewing him.

Karl Bushby

The literal epitome of putting one foot in front of another, ex-British paratrooper Karl Bushby has been walking around the world for 21 years. He originally set out to walk 58,000 km and estimated it would take him 12 years. He caught the walking bug and is still at it today, according to social media updates. You go, Karl Bushby. Now there’s a man who needs a lot of sox!

Steve Jobs

The founder of Apple wore the same turtleneck sweater every day so that he didn’t have to waste brainpower deciding what to wear. Let’s be honest, he probably could’ve done well with a Don Sox subscription to spice things up a bit with some classy men’s socks to match those sweaters.

Ruth Bader Ginsberg

RBG is the queen of queens, pioneering for the legal rights of women and their right to work throughout her entire life as lawyer. She is evidence that you can be a hard-working, intellectual female and a fashion mogul. All class.

Jack Charles

No one pulls off a Dumbledore beard like Indigenous Australian actor and musician Jack Charles. That hair, those sweater vests, the sox (probably).

OneGirl.org

One Girl is a non-profit organisation dedicated to educating girls in developing countries. 130 million girls are denied an education worldwide, and their annual Do It In A Dress campaign encourages people to wear a dress every day (surfing, playing sport, at work, etc.) to raise money and awareness. This is style that matters!

Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson

The Rock Foundation Inc is all about creating hope and possibility for children in disadvantaged situations all around the world. He’s not just a former wrestler, he’s a style icon and a philanthropist to boot.

Fluoro Friday

For the past five years, hundreds of people around Australia have been gathering at beaches on a Friday morning at 6.30am to raise awareness for mental health issues. It’s basically a huge dress-up party, where you’re encouraged to wear something fluoro, representing the light we can shine on darker issues in our society.

The Barefoot Investor

Scott Pape was a mere Aussie farmer whose house burnt down before he shot to fame after writing a bestselling book about how to save money. He’s barefoot as a tribute to his humble rural roots, but imagine how far he would’ve come if he’d also donned some sweet men’s socks!

You

Don your sox and see what’s possible…
